We believe in the corrective power of Pilates and the lasting change it creates in your body. We also believe your practice is unique to you; no two bodies are the same.

Our own personal Pilates journey has taught us that regular private lessons are imperative for progress. We recommend a minimum of 2 one on one lessons per month to maximize your group work investment.

F A Q

Are there different types of Pilates?

No, there is only one type, and for it to be effective there are things you should look for in a studio and an instructor: a fully equipped space (barrels, reformers, chairs, and more), instructors with a minimum of 650 hours of training, and an emphasis on teaching the exercises and their order.

Who invented Pilates?

The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning was designed by Joseph Pilates throughout his lifetime, from 1920-1960’s. We highly recommend his book Return to Life.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable and form fitting is best. No special socks or shoes are required.

What can I expect from my first session?

Lots of moving! Sessions are about 50 minutes and you will be moving the entire time. Depending on your body and goals you will learn exercises on the apparatus and be given homework.

How many times a week should I do Pilates?

2-3x a week to see improvement and create lasting change. If you decide to do our small group classes we recommend at least 2 private sessions a month to make you’re progressing and to give you new exercises.
